How To Destress During The Coronavirus Outbreak

I'm writing this today to hopefully bring some light into your day during an overwhelming time. I know we can all feel the global energy right now and it's definitely hard to manage (as evidenced by my current case of laryngitis) but we will get through this.

You're probably feeling super stressed and wondering what you can do while you're sitting at home, in quarantine from the Coronovairus. With so many things sold out, and nowhere to go to ease your restlessness, it can definitely be overwhelming. Well, I have a few helpful tips to share with you today that you can take advantage of from the comfort of your own home.

First things first, It's important to remember to breathe, relax as much as possible, and take really good care of ourselves. I am setting aside some time this week to send distance Reiki to anyone who would like to receive it. If this is you, please send me an email and I will be sure to include you. I also wanted to share a few self-care ideas with you during this time.

If you have some Epsom salt or sea salt at home (or Mermaid Magic) throwing several tablespoons into the bath with some essential oils will not only help you to relax but will detox you energetically as well, which is so critical right now.

Body scrubs, saunas, and dry brushing are also a great way to gently detox physically and energetically. These aren't things that you'd want to do if you are feeling under the weather, but if you'd like to practice some self-care this week, they are a great place to start.

Do you have sage or palo santo to smudge? You can even use dried herbs that you may have in your pantry such as lavender. Here is some information on smudging and how to do it.

Although a lot of wellness products are sold out right now, adaptogens seem to still be readily available. If you aren't already using them, they are absolutely wonderful for managing physical and mental stress. I would definitely recommend looking into them if you haven't yet. Ashwagandha is a personal favorite of mine, but there are many others as well.

Magnesium is another amazing supplement that many of us are deficient in and it happens to be great for relaxation and mitigating stress. I take some every night before bed to help me sleep. As always, be sure to check with your doctor to make sure anything that I've mentioned would be a good fit for you.

Although it seems frivolous during the current state of things, I am doing everything I can to stay calm, relax and enjoy my time at home. For me, nothing is more relaxing than creating. So, I'm going to be whipping up a lot of new products this week.

If you'd like to try your hand at a relaxing body oil, here is a super easy recipe for you to make in just a few minutes at home.

I'm sending you so much love and I hope that you find some time to replenish yourself and your spirit this week. Remember, we are here on this planet right now for a reason, you are not alone, and we are all in this together.

XO,
Sarah
