3 Steps to Gently Detoxify Your Liver Every Day
Drinking Lemon Water
Your liver is a powerhouse in your body. It aids the body in flushing out unwanted toxins. There aren't many of us who eat perfectly every day, so most of us just need a little extra help! One of the easiest ways to detoxify your liver is by simply adding some lemon juice to your water each morning. Lemon juice aids your liver in flushing out unwanted toxins before they are able to be absorbed into your body. A lemon water in the morning is an easy-peezy lemon-squeezy way to provide your liver with some extra protection!
Simply cut a lemon in half, remove the seeds, and squeeze one half into a warm cup of water. Add honey to taste if you think plain lemon water is too tart. If you drink it often enough, your pH will become more balanced and you may not experience the tart flavor in the same way.
For extra protein, fiber and nutrients, add a teaspoon or two of chia seeds to the water as well! If you do this, be sure to drink it right away as the seeds will create a thicker texture to the water the longer they sit in the drink.
Dry Brushing
Dry brushing wakes the body up and allows a natural detoxifying and purifying process to take place. The liver can benefit from dry brushing by clearing off any dead skin which starts the natural process of the body having a portal to elimate those toxins.
By dry brushing in short sweeping motions throughout your entire body, always starting at the bottom and brushing towards your heart, you will relax your skin and awaken your circulation, and allow the release of toxins clinging to your liver. After you finish dry brushing, you can shower to wash off those dead skin cells you have just removed. Or, even better, do a salt soak bath!
Epsom Salt Bath
While sulfates are important for joint, skin, and nervous tissue health, they can be damaging to the overall health of your liver. A sulfate can be absorbed through the skin and it can create toxic impurities within the liver.
Soaking in a warm water Epsom salt bath 2-3 times a week can aid your liver in letting loose of those negative toxins. It is beneficial to create a relaxing environment while soaking in Epsom salt. You can add essential oils to your Epsom salt bath or use one with a custom blend of salts and essential oils like our Mermaid Magic. By dimming the lights and lighting a candle in addition to the Epsom salt, this will help your body relax, making it even easier for your liver to let go of those toxins!
